She's Fly® July Bailey Retreat

Situated along Highway 285 in Bailey, Colorado just an hour west of Denver, this retreat features fishing access, a refreshing swimming pool, and a gorgeous mountain setting! Run away from the city heat and find yourself here to enjoy a nice cool down in the high country. This retreat is our most affordable option and is made for beginners. All fishing will be done onsite at Bailey Lodge. Enjoy the chance to learn fly fishing basics that will assure you go home with the confidence and knowledge to Be Your Own Guide®.

She’s Fly® invites you to join us for this 3-night, 2-day unique fly fishing experience. Immerse yourself in nature, soak up the gorgeous mountain air, and make some connections that will last a lifetime!

    • Casting lessons on land and water (with rod-and-reel and the option to learn Tenkara)

  • Day 2 (Sunday) - She's Fly Fishing® 101 Clinic Part 2 includes:

    • Fly golf

    • Read the river

Not included

  • 2- or 3-day Colorado fishing license: your choice - order your license here:; NOTE - a license is not required as long as you are fishing on the Bailey Lodge property. However, if you decide to go off on your own at any point during the weekend, you will need a license.

  • Booze - there is a kitchenette with a refrigerator so you can bring your own

  • Most food - We will have some apps available at the meet & greet on Friday night. We will be serving lunch on Saturday and Sunday and also dinner on Sunday night. You can bring your own food for all the other meals or check out restaurants in and around Bailey, there are tons of options!


What to bring

  • Dress for the elements! Colorado can be gorgeous, sunny, windy, cold, rainy, snowy (even in July), and everything in between. Although warm conditions are expected, please bring warm clothing. Temperature drops after sunset can be pretty shocking in the mountains.

  • Swimsuit

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Comfortable shoes

Daily Itinerary (a more detailed itinerary will be provided before arrival):

  • Arrival on Friday: Check in at Bailey Lodge, meet & greet the She's Fly® crew & guests at the Bailey Lodge Pavilion.

  • Day 1 Saturday:

Enjoy a half-day of fly fishing basics including rod anatomy, knot tying, casting lessons, entomology intro, and gear overview. Our friend and girl guide Geneva Scarano from The Blue Quill Angler will be joining us! Then you'll have a seat at our table for a private luncheon to end the clinic. Kick back and relax because you're free for the rest of the day! You can play in the pool, head into town to check out shops and restaurants, go for a hike, or even fish in the pond onsite. Take some time for you, you earned it!

  • Day 2 Sunday:

We'll jump into another half-day of fly fishing basics including fly golf, reading the river, river etiquette, proper fish handling, and pond fishing! We'll end the session with lunch and set you free again to do what you like for the rest of the day. We'll regroup early that evening to enjoy a BBQ at the Bailey Lodge Pavilion to close out our retreat.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

A non-refundable $500 deposit is due at time of booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the trip arrival date. Should you cancel your trip, a refund will be made only if your space can be filled, minus a 10% service charge. We make no refunds nor assume any additional expenses if weather or any reason beyond our control renders you unable to complete a trip or any other part of an itinerary. We reserve the right to cancel a trip because of low enrollment or other circumstances and will refund all funds paid to us in such a case.
